Job Description

Property Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Generate monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
  • Support budget and forecast processes; perform variance analysis to optimize financial outcomes
  • Complete bank reconciliations, tenant ledger reconciliations, and security deposit tracking
  • Track capital projects and maintain property-level fixed asset registers
  • Assist with annual audits, tax documentation, and regulatory compliance for properties
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of property accounting experience in a real estate environment
  • Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, or similar real estate accounting software
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting practices including lease accounting and financial reporting
  • CPA or progress towards CPA certification preferred but not required
